Thanks to years of hard work and accumulated experience, ACME Energy Service Company won awards for multiple solar photovoltaic power generation projects in the 2022 Urban Engineering Quality Gold Award hosted by the Kaohsiung City Civil Engineers Association last year, demonstrating the company’s sole commitment to quality.
ACME Energy Services Co., Ltd. and its partner Delta Electronics recently won the bid for Taipower Corporation’s “Secondary Substation Regional Grid Energy Storage Project.” This project represents a major breakthrough for ACME Energy Services in smart grid technology and applications, and demonstrates its expertise in implementing grid energy storage and energy management.
ACME Energy Services stated that Taiwan’s net-zero transition goal calls for distributed renewable energy to account for over 60% of electricity generation by 2050. The integration of large amounts of intermittent renewable energy into the grid will cause voltage and frequency fluctuations, impacting power system quality and grid stability. The rapid development of smart grids and information and communications technology in recent years has driven grid digitization and increased operational flexibility. Strengthening grid resilience and improving grid adaptability have become top priorities for power technology development worldwide.
The project combines the existing distributed solar power generation system and the newly installed energy storage system and diesel generator sets in the regional power grid of the secondary substation with the feeder, and cooperates with the dispatch instructions of Taipower Company to perform tasks such as solar power generation smoothing, frequency regulation and standby, island operation, and grid balancing. It also has parallel operation, planned island operation and emergency island operation modes, improving the power quality of the regional power grid and promoting the stable operation of the power system.
Furthermore, the secondary substation regional grid energy storage project is a comprehensive project encompassing system design, energy storage system implementation, energy management system communications and control, and other services. Leveraging its years of experience in renewable energy power plant implementation, front-of-meter and back-of-meter energy storage system applications, and comprehensive supply chain deployment, ACME Energy Services provided an efficient and reliable solution within a tight timeframe.
ACME Energy Services stated that through this tender, its collaboration with Taipower Corporation will not only contribute its expertise to Taiwan’s energy transition, but also look forward to leveraging this successful project to establish a forward-looking technology landscape. By developing diversified power infrastructure and energy application technology services, ACME Energy Services aims to benefit more regions and businesses, becoming a key partner for green and sustainable enterprises.
